REVIEW and SWATCHES: LORAC Unzipped Palette

Hello humans! So today I’m going to be reviewing the LORAC Unzipped Palette. I was really excited to try this palette out because I’m a sucker for good neutral palettes. If you want to see my review, click read more!

Packaging:
I love LORAC, but I have to be honest, their packaging is not my favourite. The palette is in the cardboard material that flops around. They do provide a huge mirror (which is always much appreciated) but the mirror is not sturdy and is hard to use when you’re putting the palette on a table to do your makeup. But it does come with the coveted LORAC Behind The Scenes Eye Primer in travel size.

Colours:
The palette includes 4 matte shades (Undercover, Unconditional, Unbribed and Unspoken) and the rest are shimmering colours. The shimmering shades have a slight frosty finish which I don’t mind.

The colours are mainly cool undertoned shades, making it suitable for people with a cool skintone. I have a warm undertoned skin and I was still able to create a complementing neutral look with this palette. LORAC claims that this palette is universally flattering, but I don’t think I agree with that as the shades are from one family.

Formulation:
LORAC eyeshadows are highlighly pigmented with minimal fall out. The darker colours (Unbribed and Untamed) have more fall out than the others in my opinion.

It applies on very smoothly and have a very velvety texture that is a dream to blend. I tried the palette out without any primer and there was minimal creasing. They also last a very long time as I wore it for 12 hours straight without any touch ups and it was still there by the time I removed my makeup.

Pricing:
This palette retails for USD $40 at the LORAC website and I bought it for IDR 765K. I think it is worth the price for the quality of the shadows.

Pictorial:
1. Apply the LORAC Behind The Scenes Primer all over the top and bottom lid.
2. Highlight the brow bone and inner corner using Undercover
3. Define the crease by blending Unconditional in a fluffy brush
4. Apply Unattainable all over the mobile lid.
5. Amp up the outer V by blending unspoken to the area connecting to the lower lash line.
6. Darken using Untamed in the outer third of the lid and the center of the lower lash line.
7. Rim the waterline using the Em Michelle Phan Waterliner in Black Knight
8. Apply Mascara, I’m using the Benefit They’re Real Mascara
9. And you’re done!

Overall:
I love this palette. The only thing that I don’t like is the packaging as it is not the easiest to work with. My favourite shades are Undercover, Unattainable and Unspoken. Definitely an investment worthy palette

 Verdict:

9.5/10
