REVIEW: Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector

Hello humans! So today I'm doing a review on a product that I've been looking for for agggeeesss. It is the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal. If you want to know if it's worth the splurge, click read more!

Packaging

So the product came in this grey box, which is in the same sleek design as all the other BECCA products. One minus though, the packaging of the product on the shelf (fyi, at the pharmacy I bought this, they had these babies in their boxes all lined up on the shelves for people to grab) it made it hard to differentiate which box is which product. The product name and description is always on the bottom right hand corner, so you have to lift every single damn box to find the one you want.

The Product

From the bottle it self, the product looked very pigmented. From all the other BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector colors (there were Moonstone and Pearl), this one is definitely the one with the most colour. It is a light champagne shade with micro sparkles in it that you can see from the bottle.

It also came in a pump form, which I am super grateful for because you really need a tiny amount of product to highlight your face. A tiny blob (the size of a grain of rice) was enough to cover my entire hand).

It is really pigmented at first, true to the colour on the bottle, but has a very blendable formula. It is very creamy, something I did not expect because it looked so liquidy (is that even a word) at first pump.

The finish is less pigmented and blends in the skin tone nicely. You can see the flex of shimmers from the very first pump. One draw back from this is that it is super light reflective.

Application

Like I said, this thing blends like a dream! And a little goes a long way. I began by drawing a line on the top of my cheekbones and attempted to blend it away. It was every where! Suggesting that you need to just dab little by little, and diffuse the product on the back of your hand first before applying it on to the skin because it can look pretty greasy.

Result

The end result is amazing! My skin looked fresh and dewy without looking like I have highlighter on because it blends like butter. I also love how this product adjusts to the skin tone nicely. Even though there is pigmentation on the highlighter it self, it acts as more of a top coat when applied sparingly.

Under flash photography, this product showed extreme response. It is really light reflective, making the skin looking more oily. I would suggest avoiding too much of this product for a night out, but use sparingly and in certain areas only.

Final Mark

All in all I am in love with this product, and now am looking forward to purchasing the other shades. The only drawback is the light reflective properties that can make the skin look oily. The fact that you only need so little to go a long way, signifies that I can survive by using just one bottle for an entire year. So I give this baby a score of 8.5 / 10
