Maya Mia Palette (Anastasia Beverly Hills) Review and Swatches

Hello humans! Like I said in my previous review, here are my thoughts on the Maya Mia Palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills. I love this baby so much, so click read more to see more!

Packaging:

Both of these palettes are in the standard Anastasia Beverlly Hills Eyeshadow Packaging. The cardboard material is actually pretty sturdy, although I have to be honest, the design kind of looks cheap to me (when really I consider this palette to be quite expensive)

A huge mirror comes with the palette as well as a double-ended brush. Usually I never use these brushes that comes with eyeshadow palettes, but this brush is actually of quality and I use them for real!

There are also 5 tutorial cards in the palette. If you love instagram like me, you should not be a stranger to the glorious work of Maya Mia.

Colour Selection:

I know a lot of people were commenting how the three Anastasia Beverly Hills palettes have similar colours (Amrezy, Maya Mia and Tamanna) and I can see their reason. Although I can’t comment on the Amrezy Palette, I can see that in both the Maya Mia and Tamanna palette that there is a repeating pattern of neutral colours, and a couple of colored statement shades.

For Maya Mia, Aqua, Peach and Gold Bar are the statement piece. To me Aqua is the star of this palette. It is a stunning vibrant turquoise color with a beautiful satin finish. The rest of the shades are more neutral, with my favorite contouring brown shade, Sienna. Glisten is the best shimmering colour in the palette as it reminds me a lot of Kitten from Stila but with extra sparkles.

Formulation:

The same with the Tamanna palette, the shadows are very pigmented and buttery. I do commend the shimmering colours from Anastasia Beverly Hills for its amazing shine, however the lighter matte shades are not as pigmented against my medium-dark skintone.

Verdict:

8.5/10
