Hello humans!
If you follow me on
instagram then you might saw the haul that I posted there on a bunch of my new
palettes. One of them is the NARS Narsissist palette. I have been hearing mixed
reviews about it, so I decided to try it out for my self :D Read more to see my
verdict on this baby!
Packaging:
NARS is committed,
I’d give them that. The packaging is just the regular NARS design, with a mini
twist on the title of the palette. I actually love their packaging because it
is durable, light weight, and it is sleek. The only thing I don’t like is that
it gets dirty easily because of the material.
Formula:
I haven’t tried many
NARS eyeshadow, so this one was a good one for me to give a go because it has
15 (yes, 15) eyeshadow in them. They’re a mixed of matte and shimmering
textures as well as warm and cool undertoned neutrals.
Colour wise, I was
not impressed with the lighter shades because they just disappear onto my
NC40-NC42 skin. Especially the 1st one on the 2nd row.
You can’t even tell that I have anything on. The matte colours are the hardest to blend for me because they settle in pretty fast. The shimmering shades though, are GORGEOUS. The last row of colours is to DIE FOR.
I think that the
first layer of eyeshadows do not do this palette justice. I was kind of
disappointed on this product when I first tried it, but after I gave it another
try… WOW. These eyeshadows are awesome! (except for those lighter shades,
nothing can save those other than putting a lighter base first).
Overall:
This baby retails for
USD 79 on the Sephora website. I think it is worth the purchase I you are a
sucker for neutrals but do not one to spend all your money buying single
eyeshadows from nars (which are quite expensive). It is a huge palette that
allows you to create multiple looks so I do like it. Nevertheless, this type of
eyeshadow palette is not new to the market, so if you have other neutral
palettes in your collection already, I suggest you leave this one out.
Verdict
7.5/10

The shimmering shades are pretty :D
